Nutro Products remains committed to being a good corporate citizen and responsible employer in the Victor Valley. We’re pleased to report that the measures Nutro Products has taken to address odor complaints have been successful.

The Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system that was installed in 2008 is fully functional and operating properly. Scientific and anecdotal evidence suggests that the system’s performance is exceeding expectations. We are also pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District (MDAQMD) on the resolution of the notice of violation that the MDAQMD had issued. The MDAQMD has acknowledged that any potential odor issues have been resolved. Nutro Products has agreed to pay the MDAQMD $215,000 to reimburse the agency for its costs, including $30,000 for environmental community projects in and around the city of Victorville.

Nutro Products has spent over $11 million in odor abatement technology at our Victorville facility. The Air District has said that the RTO system is "the best available odor control technology," and we’re pleased that this major investment has been successful. In reaching this settlement, the MDAQMD took into account these expenditures.

Nutro Products remains an enthusiastic and long-term member of the Victorville business community. As the employer of approximately 188 people at the Victorville facility, Nutro Products is committed to its associates, its retail partners, pet owners and the community.
